FAU is not highly ranked but there is a high demand to get in. All Florida universities except UM and UF are absolute garbage but admission is generally quite competitive due to the state's huge population. I did fine on my SAT so getting in wasnt an issue for me. However, I knew kids who got around the 1500 mark (low but not abysmal) who were turned away. My estimate: SAT 1750+ = auto admit regardless of GPA. 1650-1750 should be fine with a GPA over 2.7. 1550-1650 SAT, 3.0 GPA would cut it. Less than 1500 and your community college material as far as your standardized tests go so I hope your GPA is well over 3.

2.95 GPA (Unweighted) 1700 SAT, Accepted within 1 week. I think if you apply early its easier, it's pretty much a safe backup for everyone I know. The application itself takes like 10 minutes, has no essay, and I'm pretty sure I saw a button which lets you connect it to your facebook account...which is sorta weird.

It was not hard to get into FAU. I've heard they are trying to raise the bar, so SAT score minimum is getting higher.
